We are the Catalano Family, and we are so thankful for Sunrise, and the lasting impact it has had on us. We are honored to be the 2025 ambassador family.
Sunrise is an amazing place filled with the most caring staff and wonderful people. Our daughter Brooke, and son Christopher, have made so many memories and friends at Sunrise. They both look forward to camp all year long. Swimming, playing, laughing, and just being kids. For them, Sunrise isn’t just a camp, it’s freedom, joy, and healing wrapped into one.
Christopher was diagnosed with a rare cancer just before his first birthday. What followed were endless hospital visits, surgeries, and chemotherapy. It was a time filled with fear, exhaustion, and uncertainty for our entire family. But even during the darkest times, Sunrise gave us light.
At camp, Brooke and Christopher aren’t just patients or siblings of a sick child—they’re campers. They’re surrounded by counselors who lift them up, friends who understand, and days filled with fun instead of worry. The selflessness and generosity of the Sunrise community have given our family something we can never repay, hope, joy, and cherished memories.
Every time we see our kids smiling at camp, we’re reminded of how far we’ve come and how much love and support exists in this world. Your generosity makes that possible. So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
